The Stylis Stevedores Union is named after the Orthodox Church saint, St. Nicholas (Agios Nikolaos), favorite of sailors, fishermen, ships and sailing.
The origins of the union lie in the long shore industry of Stylida Port - the work of loading and unloading ships’ cargoes. Loading and unloading ships requires knowledge of the operation of loading equipment, the proper techniques for lifting and stowing cargo, and correct handling of hazardous materials. It was established several decades ago, thus our workers are experienced enough to carry out the most demanding operations.
Nowadays Stylis Stevedores Union consists of 13 people which are well trained and ready to provide their services under demanding conditions and always following all safety measures having and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
